About this project

RSPCA Chichester in the South Downs provides care and assistance to dogs and cats who need a second chance to find their forever home. Also known as Mount Noddy, it is a branch of the RSPCA and operates under RSPCA guidelines, but is a separate registered charity and is self-funded.

RSPCA Sussex Chichester & District has embarked on the most ambitious redevelopment of Mount Noddy since the centre was built more than 50 years ago. Architects ACD Projects commissioned us to provide veterinary furniture for this new development, which included for new dog kennels, cat pens, veterinary clinic and new visitors’ centre. The contract value for this work was just over £27,000.

RSPCA Chichester - project details

RSPCA Sussex Chichester & District embarked on the most ambitious redevelopment of Mount Noddy since the centre was built more than 50 years ago. They have taken the best in animal welfare expertise to create kennels and catteries that not only provide the most comfortable, but also the least stressful environment for the cats and dogs that come into their care.

The Big Build – will create:

  • 21 standard, and 6 large family dog kennels
  • 41 cat pens and 6 maternity pens for mums and kittens
  • Separate vet suites for dogs and cats
  • Safe and secure exercise areas for the dogs
  • A woodland enrichment walk for dogs
  • A wildlife corridor for rehabilitation and soft release for wildlife
  • A new Visitor’s Centre to welcome supporters

When the new look centre is complete it will also include a veterinary clinic, hydrotherapy treadmill and groom room both for the dogs in our care, but also to generate extra income for the branch. The centre’s fully refurbished onsite barn will provide space for dog training classes. And there will be a secure exercise area in the Field Of Dreams that can be rented out to members of the public and their dogs for safe off lead walks.
